2008 Spring Enrichment Schedule

Spring is finally here!  Spring fever arrived on first sunny weekend:  walking trails were full, parks were busy, and—best of all—people were smiling and laughing. Welcome back, Spring!

Community Education has been busy this winter, with the Hill’s Spell-a-Bration, the US Bank Art Show, and the many projects relating to volunteers, classes and childcare.  Now it’s on to spring term and planning for summer activities.

Please take a moment to join Volunteers in Action as they recognize the volunteers that make this community great by nominating your favorite volunteer or group of volunteers for the annual awards presented by BB&T.  This year’s reception will take place Thursday, April 17, at Christ Episcopal Church.  Nominations can be obtained by visiting the Community Ed website or by calling and requesting that one be mailed to you.

Summer Camp time is coming to Community Education.  This year’s camps will run June 2—July 25.  Children who have completed grades K-2 will attend Natcher Elementary; those completing 3—5,  Lost River; and those completing 6—8, Moss Middle School.

REGISTER EARLY to take advantage of the Early Bird registration fee of $30.00/account. Informational open houses and registration sessions will be held Apr. 2 & 3 at 6:00 p.m. (See dates to remember)

Speaking of Summer Camp time, join us for this year’s Summer Activities Fair to

learn about the vast amount of activities available for children of all ages in this community.  Community Education and Bowling Green High will host the fair on Tuesday, May 6, at 5:30 p.m.

Stand for Children Day returns with a flair this year.  Join American Bank & Trust, the Bowling Green Kiwanis Club, and Community Education as we celebrate the 11th annual Stand for Children Day, showcasing all the ways we are or can Be Amazing!  This year’s event will take place THURSDAY, June 12, on the South Lawn of WKU, in front of the Preston Center, 9:30 a.m.—noon .  Save the date for an amazing morning of music, dance, games, prizes, fun, and information with your

Anne Grubbs, Enrichment Coordinator
